Ariana by Microgaming

We can only think of one famous person named Ariana and if you’re not a fan of teen pop then you’ll be pleased to know that this game has absolutely nothing to do with her. Instead, the Ariana on this game is a mermaid and the developer has really pulled out all the stops on the visuals. Well, we say all the stops – the base symbols look little different to those found on much older games with a similar theme such as Novomatic’s Dolphin’s Pearl. However, Ariana herself looks incredible by any standards and you’ll be pleased to know that you’ll be encountering her with alarming regularity thanks to her role as a stacked icon – not to mention the most valuable standalone symbol on the game.

Joining Ariana as a symbol that you’ll always be pleased to see is the game’s logo and this one serves as a wild card, filling in for anything other than the scatter. It’s not the only way to improve your fortunes on a certain spin either thanks to the chain reactions caused on stacked, high value symbols. One of the special features of the game comes into play whenever you land a full stack of the same icon on the first reel. Every other instance of that symbol on the board will also expand and 25 win lines ensure that you can always extract plenty of value when this occurs.

Stacked Wilds on Free Spins

The special symbols on Ariana keep on coming, so add the purple starfish to your list of icons to be on the particular lookout for. This is the scatter and landing three at the same time, regardless of the win line configuration, will lead to fifteen free games. The main addition to the board here is the fact that the wild card can now also appear in a full stack on the first reel and this has the same effect as in the base game, whereby any other wild card on the board will also expand when this is the case. It’s even possible to cover the entire board with wilds in this manner and it doesn’t take an expert to work out what kind of prizes await when this happens!

Ariana Mobile

All of the great features mentioned above have also made their way onto the mobile version of Ariana, which just so happened to hit our screens at the same time as the online version. They’re both live and ready to play for real money now – all you’ll need is an account with one of the great gaming brands in the sidebar in order to get up and running. If you’d prefer to sample the features and bonuses with no risk beforehand, then check out our no deposit version of the online game right back up at the top of this review.
