Werewolf Wild from Aristocrat
Werewolf Wild is the closest thing that we’ve ever seen to a game set in Victorian England and while that alone would be sufficient to serve as a video slot theme for most developers, Aristocrat has been sure to add in a further twist. This comes from the cartoonish horror taking place on the reels and it all adds up to a game that was clearly inspired by some older horror movies. Fortunately, you’re certainly not in for a scare on this game as everything is rendered in the same light hearted style that we’ve come to expect from the developer and the focus, as always, is definitely on fun above anything else.
Mystery Coins and Claw Swipes
Like so many of Aristocrat’s slot games from this generation, the action takes place across 25 win lines and so the wins continue to pile up as you play. A crucial symbol throughout the game, as you’d expect from a game with a name like Werewolf Wild, is the wild card itself, and it comes along regularly in its own right while also contributing to additional action when it does so.
This game differs from many of its contemporaries, however, as there are a couple of great extra features included within the base action itself. For starters, you’ve got a chance not only of landing the main themed icons, but also a gold coin. If this coin lands on the first reel and hits on the same spin as a wild card, you’ll instantly receive a prize calculated as a multiplier of your total stake as listed on the coin itself. This can be anything from two to forty times your stake and so is always handy when it lands.
Players on the main board can also benefit from the Claw Swipe feature, which is most definitely simple but effective. During a spin, the werewolf may see fit to appear on the side of the board and lash out at the reels. In doing so, he’ll turn up to five different symbols into additional wild cards, which do of course contribute to any win that lands.
Free Spins with More Wild Cards
Werewolf Wild definitely takes the concept of wild cards to the extreme as you’ll have seen in the base game, but the action doesn’t end there. To see the next feature, you’ll need to trigger free spins. This is achieved with three or more scatters and it’s possible to land a particularly tasty round. This is because three scatters will award a rather modest seven spins, but four will bump that number up to fourteen. If you manage to land a scatter on every reel, you’ll be treated to a healthy 28 spins in total.
During these spins, landing a wild card next to any of the human characters such as the policeman will cause said humans to turn into werewolves, and therefore become additional wilds. If they have another human character next to them then the process repeats, often leading to far bigger wins than players might be expecting.
Werewolf Wild is easily one of the most action packed Aristocrat slots around, even including the typical gamble feature that players know and love.
