Win Sum Dim Sum Microgaming Game

Win Sum Dim Sum may well be the latest attempt from Microgaming to take over as the leading light in terms of Oriental casino games. However, with the likes of Aristocrat firmly in the lead in this regard, such an overtaking may be quite the feat. Nevertheless, it continues to plug away with what is, by our tally, the fourth Oriental themed casino game release of 2016 so far.

The looks of the game aren’t exactly up to all that much and they pretty much fall into line with what players will expect from something that was released five years ago. That wouldn’t be a major issue if, at the time of writing, this wasn’t the very latest Microgaming title to hit our screens. Nevertheless, visuals only tell part of any game’s story and we were willing to give the gameplay a chance.

Nine Lines, Expanding Wilds and Free Spins

It’s not just the looks that are somewhat old fashioned on Win Sum Dim Sum, as we thought we were far past the idea of nine win lines being suitably for a new release. It may be what some players are looking for nowadays, but in a world where developers are falling over themselves to push the boundaries of what is possible in gaming, it feels a little threadbare. There is at least a wild card to keep things going, represented by the Win Sum Dim Sim logo, and it comes with the slight added feature of being an expanding wild whenever it lands on reel three during the base game.

The teapot is the scatter symbol on the game and, in true Microgaming fashion, landing three instances of the symbol anywhere on the board at the same time will lead to a free spins bonus round. The reward is fifteen free spins and while there is no multiplier in place, the wild becomes a little more impressive as it will now expand not only on reel three, but also on reels two and four as well.

Win Sum Dim Sum Mobile

This kind of game, as you’ll have gathered by now, could probably be run on a calculator, let alone the latest mobile devices. Adding it to the expanding Microgaming mobile selection was pretty much a no brainer and players can enjoy identical action to the online version on phones and tablets by playing at the very same online brands.

We kind of hate to say it, but Microgaming’s almost depressingly slow start to 2016 seems to be continuing with another “retro” game that basically serves as little more than a space filler in their range. Win Sum Dim Sum almost feels like the same game that the developer has already released about three times over so far this year and it basically doesn’t excite us in the slightest. You can check it out for free at the top of the page, but when heading over to a Microgaming powered gaming brand for more action, you may well find yourself checking out something else instead.
